Summer '15

Once again I am here with my family enjoying my summer holiday and being a lazy bum. This last week was so relaxing, I slept almost 12 hours every night and didn't do much during the day. It is so weird being here for this long, I feel like I am away from the real world and all the problems that it includes.
Tomorrow we are going to the Balaton lake, which is great as I missed swimming soooo much. I probably won't have any internet there, it will be strange living for a week without it. I like that though. When I don't have internet and don't need it everything is so different. Yes at times boring, but otherwise good different.

I have some pretty big news, but am waiting with posting it here as I don't wanna jinx it. Let's just say that my life is going to be completely different next year then it was this year, and I am excited.
Anyway going to go back to watching series.
Peace out.

Food for Thought

"We have all hurt someone tremendously, whether by intent or accident. We have all loved someone tremendously, whether by intent or accident. It is an intrinsic human trait, and a deep responsibility, I think, to be an organ and a blade. But, learning to forgive ourselves and others because we have not chosen wisely is what makes us most human. We make horrible mistakes. It’s how we learn. We breathe love. It’s how we learn. And it is inevitable."

Edinburgh 2015

One of the main things I have repeatedly mentioned on my blog is getting into college/university, which is what I have been trying to do for the past 2 or more years, there is always some reason why I don't get in or it doesn't work out. Here you have my latest story on the subject.
Since I really want to get my bachelor degree on Early Childhood Education, I have applied to lots of places but always hear different news back from them. The reason I have not been accepted in Hungary is because Hungarian universities don't accept my high school diploma and they don't have the course in English here. I tried applying in some other countries but come to realize soon after, that I could never afford them. All that being said I learned that Scotland would be my best option and therefore applied to a lot of colleges there. I was called for an interview for one in a small town called Galashiels and since it wasn't possible to do it over skype I happily spent a ton of money and flew to Scotland. I stayed 2 nights and 3 days in Edinburgh and went to Galashiels only for my interview. I got accepted but not on the level I would have liked. If I would go to college there it would take me 6 years to have my bachelors degree, which is a huge waste of time considering I have been teaching kindergarten for years now. Therefore I have made a new decision: I am going to study a different subject. Life keeps on throwing it in my face that this won't work out, at first I thought I wasn't trying hard enough, but after a while I realized that maybe it wasn't meant to be. I may be wrong, but I am now trying to get into university here in Hungary from February and after I have my BA I can always go back to teaching in a kindergarten.
Maybe things are complicated, but at least this interview helped contribute to my travels.
Here are some pictures of Edinburgh, which is a beautiful city:
This is the first picture I took, from the bus. I always knew the Scots were famous for their kilts, but I never expected them to have separate shops where they sell them.

The Cathedral
The Castle -the Game Of Thrones sky cells idea were taken from this castle
Of course, the typical red phone booths from the UK
This was pretty funny
The entrance to the cemetery dome is made from the ashes of dead people
Bobby
Scottish people playing bag pipes was one of my favorite things about Scotland

I was expecting sheep, and I got sheep

(I didn't have time to see the actual gardens)

Edinburgh airport, just because I have never seen this many cars parked in one place in my life

This is for all my friends who are Harry Potter fans:
As most people know J. K. Rowling is from Edinburgh.
She wrote the first 2 books in this cafe called The Elephant House
(I know I should have taken the picture from the front)
George Hariot's School, the inspiration for Hogwarts, it has 4 houses and 4 towers

Diagon Alley

Tom Riddell's grave
-J. K. Rowling ran out of names for characters in Harry Potter and went to the cemetery to look for names

Sopron

I have been missing in action on my blog lately and I miss updating.
So over April I went to Sopron - this city close to the Austrian border.
Here are some pictures.

Drinking Soproni's in Sopron by the fire tower

Picnic

All in all Sopron was really beautiful and I was glad I got to see it.
That's all for now, I will try to keep my blog updated more often.

Easter 2015

On Friday I told my students to draw anything they wanted on the theme of Easter.
One of them drew this picture and said:
"When I go to Heaven I am going to give this to God."

Happy Easter!

Fix It

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home

They say the darkest hour is just before the dawn, and What doesn't kill you just makes you stronger. Things will work out, I just gotta believe they will.

Day 30

Day 30: Your goals for the next 30 days.

Lately I have come to the conclusion that I probably am anemic, as I have been sleeping a lot
and not ever feeling rested, so one of my goals is to get enough iron back into my body and to feel better.
  • To have a great 21st birthday.
  • Get a reply for college.
  • Renew my Hungarian passport and get all the paperwork I need to do done.
  • To keep in touch with new people I meet.
  • Get out of meeting with a certain family once and for all.
  • Make a bunch of new dream-catchers

I am now happy to announce that I have finished my 30 Day Challenge. I know it took more then 30 days to complete.
I did enjoy writing about my life on here. I will now go back to occasionally posting when I am in the mood and
have time.
Bye bye.

Day 29

Day 29: List 10 people, dead or alive, you would invite to dinner. Include the dinner menu.

I really thought about this question and how I would use this situation. First I thought I'd invite all of my friends from around the world and use the opportuinty to see them. After a while of thinking though, I realized I would for sure use the fact that I can invite people who aren't alive anymore and invite my sister and therefore make it a family dinner so everyone could meet her. That way I'd have 9 people already, I can't decide on a 10th because it would have to be a relative and I can't just invite 1 grandparent, so maybe my aunty.
We would have tacos.

This question was by far the weirdest, along with the one about 'someone who fascinates me'.

Day 28

Day 28: Something that you miss.

That is a really difficult question to answer as I miss SOOO many things.
I miss food from different countries I have been to that they don't have in Hungary:
Zagu, yema, dried mangoes, slurppies, strawberry banana juice, pizza in Italy, different sweets from each country etc.
Not to mention food that they have here but are really expensive to buy:
sushi, steak, shrimp etc.
I miss people doing shopping and cooking dinner for me, not having to go places alone, being walking distance from my friends houses, living in the same city as my best friends, having stores super close to my house, not feeling tired amongst other things.

Day 27

Day 27: A problem you have or have had in the past.

So now this 30 Day Challenge is making me complain.
Tiredness
That is my biggest problem right now, I'm always tired, and looking forward to the weekend so I can sleep. The reason why I am so tired is because I never have a day when I don't have something important to do after work, and most of the time that thing involves leaving the house and not getting home till at least 9 p.m.. I always say I'll catch up on sleep on the weekend but that rarely happens because I always do so many things on the weekend that I don't have time to rest.
Basically my problem is curable but I'm enjoying my life too much to stop and relax, which makes it not that bad after all.
I am glad that is my biggest problem at the moment. I am really blessed.
Due to my tiredness I find lame things really funny and have to share this with you:
Whoever did this probably didn't consider the fact that tattoos are permanent, or they just consider them self a very funny person. Either way WHY????

Day 26

Day 26: If you had $ 1,000,000 to spend, how would you spend it?

I would put half of it in a savings account and the rest I would use on the following:
  • College: I would find out if there is Early Education and Childcare courses in English in Hungary and go to college here, if not I'd go to England and do a really good course there
  • Living Expenses: For while I'm in college
  • Traveling: Go see Ireland, Spain, plus a few other countries during my holidays and to visit my family
  • Clothes and shoes: Yes, I am a girl and would love a ton of clothes and shoes
I'd calculate how much the above things cost, keep a little extra for enjoying life and things like furnishing the apartment I'm gonna live in, then give the rest to my family.
It snowed a lot today.

Day 25

Day 25: Someone who fascinates you and why.

I failed this 30 Day Challenge with this question. I tried so hard to think of anyone who could possibly fascinate me. I listed a ton of people in my head and came to the conclusion that there are things that fascinate me but not people.
So I will leave this post lame and empty. I'll try to make up for it with my next post.
Here's a picture of me by the lake looking contemplative.
