Music

This post is taken from Joel's Blog and I decided it was worth re-posting as today I realized how important music is to me and the world (I mean I always knew music was awesome but I imagined the world without music). Plus I didn't ask permission (lalala.. Joel don't kill me)
Note to Joel: I'm making your post a bit more famous be glad

-If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music.

-Were it not for music, we might in these days say, the Beautiful is dead.

-Music is what feelings sound like.

-Music is the poetry of the air.

-There is nothing in the world so much
like prayer as music is.

-Play the music, not the instrument.

-You are the music while the music lasts.

-Its language is a language which the soul alone understands, but which the soul can never translate.

-
A jazz musician is a juggler who uses harmonies instead of oranges.

-Music is love in search of a word.

 On biblical scale:
-Moses was a singer and writer.

-David wrote a whole book of songs, the Book of Psalms.

-Jeremiah wrote a song now known as Lamentations.

-Hannah, the mother of Samuel, wrote songs, and Deborah and Barak sang a duet before the Children of Israel.

-The Lord even used musical instruments to save His children from their enemies, like the trumpets which caused the walls of Jericho to fall and the Midianites to flee from Gideon's meager army of 300 men.

You can read all through the Bible how God's children were constantly singing and making a joyful noise unto the Lord. Even Jesus and His disciples sang songs, and Paul exhorts that we should all sing psalms and spiritual songs. John even heard singing in Heaven--the song of Moses.
